📍 Location: Republic of Kazakhstan, Atyrau Region Road: Podstepnoye – Fyodorovka – Russian Federation Border Test Section: PK 260+00 – PK 360+00 Planned Extension: PK 360+00 – PK 460+00
🧪 Project Objective:
Implementation of innovative polymer additive PROpolymer MA-CK as a replacement for Butonal NS198 latex, originally specified in the project, in order to:
Improve the quality and performance of Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA)
Extend pavement service life
Prevent binder drainage
Increase resistance to cracking and moisture penetration
🔬 Product Overview:
PROpolymer MA-CK is a complex polymer modifier containing long-fiber cellulose. It performs dual functions:
Enhances bitumen-to-aggregate adhesion
Prevents drainage and phase separation of the binder
Improves the physical and mechanical properties of the asphalt mixture
📊 Project Results:
Approved by the Technical Council with participation from the Client, Contractor, and Design Institute
Tested by the National Center for Road Asset Quality:
Test Protocols: No. 651, 652, 854, 538, 543
Indicators for water saturation and residual porosity comply with ST RK 2373–2019
Received a positive evaluation from KazdorNII (Kazakhstan Road Research Institute)
📘 Product Registration:
Added to the Unified Database of Road Construction Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Assigned Yellow Status — approved for use on pilot sections up to 10 km in length
📝 Conclusion:
