🧪 Project Objective:
Implementation of innovative polymer additive PROpolymer MA-CK as a replacement for Butonal NS198 latex, originally specified in the project, in order to:
- Improve the quality and performance of Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA)
- Extend pavement service life
- Prevent binder drainage
- Increase resistance to cracking and moisture penetration
🔬 Product Overview:
PROpolymer MA-CK is a complex polymer modifier containing long-fiber cellulose. It performs dual functions:
- Enhances bitumen-to-aggregate adhesion
- Prevents drainage and phase separation of the binder
- Improves the physical and mechanical properties of the asphalt mixture
📊 Project Results:
- Approved by the Technical Council with participation from the Client, Contractor, and Design Institute
- Tested by the National Center for Road Asset Quality:
- Test Protocols: No. 651, 652, 854, 538, 543
- Indicators for water saturation and residual porosity comply with ST RK 2373–2019
- Received a positive evaluation from KazdorNII (Kazakhstan Road Research Institute)
📘 Product Registration:
- Added to the Unified Database of Road Construction Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan
- Assigned Yellow Status — approved for use on pilot sections up to 10 km in length
📝 Conclusion:
The product PROpolymer MA-CK proved to be an effective and promising alternative to imported analogues.
